Dr. Marco Puglia is a Gastroenterologist / Hepatologist at Hamilton Health Sciences. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at McMaster University. He received his MD degree from the University of Ottawa. He completed his Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine training at McMaster University and went on to complete fellowship training in Transplant Hepatology from the University of Toronto. His clinical practice is focused mainly on hepatology with particular interest in management of cirrhosis, viral hepatitis, NASH and Hepatocellular carcinoma. Dr Puglia's academic interest include teaching at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Dr. Puglia has received several awards for Clinical Teaching in Gastroenterology from McMaster University. Dr. Puglia’s clinical research is primarily focused on liver disease, including NASH, Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, Primary Biliary Cholangitis, and Hepatitis C.
